14th Annual San Gabriel Valley Youth Summit

On March 18, 2023, the 14th Annual San Gabriel Valley Youth Summit took place at Garvey Intermediate School. Youth4ward had the opportunity to table alongside our partner, the Center for the Pacific Asian Family (CPAF). The SGV Youth Summit unites youth and other leaders to spread messages of empowerment, education, and leadership. Tables included the LA Health Plan Community Resource Center, American Red Cross, LA County Department of Mental Health, Garfield Health Center, Rethinking Alcohol and Other Drugs, and more. Not only was each booth able to educate the youth attending about their organization and missions, but workshops were taught as well. CPAF held multiple workshops on Red Flags vs. Green Flags in relationships, while other events included an address by Pacific Clinics officials and leaders of the Garvey Unified school board and a Youth Leadership Panel that members Angela and Sophia Ren had the opportunity to lead/speak at. The host of this event, Pacific Clinics, is a nonprofit organization offering hope to individuals and families through services catered to their culture and possible trauma. We are looking forward to more events with CPAF and were honored to have been able to educate others on Youth4ward’s mission of a safer foster care community.
